Vishweshwar accuses TRS of political assassination attempt
Vishweshwar Reddy says though the TRS tried hard to reduce his vote share, he got about 5.06 lakh in Chevella, one lakh more votes than the previous election and alleges that the police and the TRS leaders have shadowed him at every step during election period
Hyderabad: Congress candidate from Chevella Parliamentary Constituency Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Friday alleged that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) tried to politically assassinate him.
Addressing the media, he said that the TRS has won by restricting him at every level. "They tied my hands and legs and won the Parliament elections," he said.
Vishweshwar Reddy said that though the TRS tried hard to reduce his vote share, he got about 5.06 lakh in Chevella, one lakh more votes than the previous election. He alleged that the police and the TRS leaders have shadowed him at every step.
He said that they have threatened the Congress leaders and workers who have been met by him during the election period. Even permission was not given to hold a meeting of Rahul Gandhi at Manneguda, he criticised.
Vishweshwar Reddy said that he has won morally against the TRS. He said that from now onwards he would work for the constituency. If he was an MP, he has to stay for six months in Delhi. But from now onwards he would be able to be in the PC for entire year.
He said that he has got 45,000 votes in Maheswaram constituency, 50,000 in Chevella, 30,000 in Parigi and 90,000 in Serilingampalli constituencies. He said that vote share of him has improved substantially in these elections.
He said that though the father and son, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and K T Rama Rao, tried to suppress him, he has won the hearts of the voters and won good number of votes.
He alleged that false cases have been filed on him and the Congress leaders and workers have been made to bind over in police stations from morning to night. He said that three police officers have been asked by the ruling party to check him, in the place of higher officials.
He said that the people have taught a lesson to the Chief Minister for his dictatorial attitude. They have defeated his daughter Kavitha in Nizamabad and TRS candidate in Karimnagar.
Vishweshwar Reddy said that the downfall of Telangana Rashtra Samithi has begun and it started from Ranga Reddy district. He said that people want water and jobs not Golden Telangana.
