Hyderabad: Advisor to Government of Telangana G. Vivekanand on Friday resigned from the post and also quit the TRS party.

"I bring to your kind notice that you had invited me back into the party with a word that the Peddapalli Parliament ticket will be given to me in 2019 Lok Sabha elections due to my active contribution in achieving the state of Telangana. Subsequently, I was appointed as the Advisor to Government of Telangana so I could continue serving the people of Peddapalli, like my father Late Shri Gaddam Venkatswamy did for more than 60 years. Under the current circumstances of my MP ticket being denied, I am resigning from the post," Vivek said in his letter.

According to sources, Vivek will hold a meeting with his followers on Saturday to decide future course of action.
