Hyderabad: Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana Amrapali Kata informed that the voters enrolment process in Telangana State will end on 15th March. She appealed to the citizens public to call up 1-9-5-0 toll free number and ensure that their names are included in the voters list. She appealed to the public during the Live Phone in programme on Voters Awareness, broadcast by News Services Division of All India Radio, Hyderabad.
Amrapali said that the first time voters and the citizens whose names are missing from the voters list are required to apply for fresh EPIC voter cards through nvsp.in or ceotelangana.nic.in websites or through the Naa Vote app. Alternatively the citizens can visit their local BLO office for enrolment. She said that currently there is no proposal to extend the date for voter enrolment due to prior laid down guidelines of ECI and that, whose names have been enrolled upto 15th March will be issued voter cards for exercising their franchise in the General Elections scheduled on April 11.
Replying to live phone calls by listeners of All India Radio News, Amrapali Kata said that over 17 lakh people have enrolled themselves as fresh or new voters and that the EPIC voters' cards will be issued to them shortly. Voters can also collect their cards from Meseva centres. She said that the Election Commission has weeded out 2.5 lakh duplicate voter cards in the last two and half months.
Amrapali urged the voters to extensively use C-VIGIL app to report to the election authorities any violation of Model Code of Conduct during the elections. The complaints received through C- VIGIL App will be addressed in 100 minutes. She informed that the election authorities at State and National level are also keeping tab on the redressal of complaints.
On the occasion, special appeal was also made to the women voters and the divyangs to check their names and enroll themselves before the deadline. Election authorities urged the divyang citizens to make the best use of facilities being provided to them for exercising their franchise during the Elections. There are over Over 6 lakh divyangs currently enrolled in the voters list in Telangana and 70% of them had cast their votes during Telangana Assembly Elections 2019, informed Amrapali.
