Vulture, one of the extinct species has been spotted after 20 years at Asifnagar crossroads on Friday night.

Mohammed Abdul Nayeem and Mohammad Abdul Azeem, the residents of the area found the Vulture sitting on a bike when they came out of a mosque after evening prayers around 8 pm.

On learning it is a rare vulture, they tried to catch it but it flew about 100m and sat on a wall. However, Nayeem and Azeem managed to catch the bird and alerted the Forest Department.

The Forest officials found the Vulture is weak and shifted it to Jawaharlal Nehru Zoological Park.

The Vulture was last spotted in between 1999-2000 near Mahaveer Harina Vanasthali National Park at Hayatnagar.
