Warangal: The works being taken up with the Special Development Funds (SDF) in Palakurthy Assembly constituency should be speeded up, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao said. Reviewing the progress of various ongoing works with the officials on Monday, the Minister told them to adopt the SDF works based on local needs. Referring to the promises made during the 2018 Assembly election, he directed the officials to prepare a list of them and implement priority-wise. "In all, development works worth around Rs 4 crore were in progress in Palakurthy, Devaruppula, Kodakandla, Raiparthy and Thorrur mandals of the constituency," Errabelli said. The Minister told the officials to prepare proposals for the maintenance and repairs of roads in the constituency. The officials were also told to prepare proposals for the construction of gram panchayat buildings.

"20 percent of the newly formed gram panchayats would get buildings in the first phase. Preference would be given to panchayats where land is available," the Minister said. Panchayat Raj Superintending Engineer Sampath Kumar and R&B Superintending Engineer Satyanarayana were among others present.

Earlier, Errabelli Dayakar Rao along with Government Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar and Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao participated in Haritha Haram programme on Kakatiya University campus organised by the journalists.

On the occasion, the Minister threw Green Challenge at media barons Ramoji Rao, Radhakrishna, Narendra Chowdary and Jupally Rameswar Rao, and film producer Dil Raju. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Whip said that State government's flagship programme - Haritha Haram – has become popular and yielding results.

Later in the day, Errabelli Dayakar Rao along with Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod distributed tractors to gram panchayats at Mahabubabad.
