Hanamkonda: Warangal Rural District Collector M Haritha comes to the rescue of two children, who lost their parents in quick succession.

The 11-year-old Aishwarya and her six-year-old brother Varun became orphans after the death of their parents Maddiboina Srinivas and Srilatha of Sitarampuram village under Damera mandal.

While Srilatha died some six months ago, Srinivas was killed in a road mishap a couple of months ago.

Collector M Haritha responded quickly when the District child Protection Officer (DCPO) G Mahender Reddy informed about the children.

The Collector directed the officials to admit the children to Sanjeevini Ashram run by Arpanapalli Mohan Rao at Narsampet so that they could stay together.

Further the Collector told the officials to make fixed deposit of Rs 40,116 collected through donations in the name of the children.

Warangal Rural District Welfare Officer M Sabitha, DCPU officials B Harikrishna, D Raju, social worker J Padmalatha, G Raj Kumar, Narsimha Swamy and C Veerababu were among others present.
