Collector S Venkat Rao, soon after launching the rally to spread awareness on Haritha Haram programme, took part in it and walked along with schoolchildren. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the district administration has decided to celebrate eight days the Balala Haritha Haram programme where in the schoolchildren of all government schools, teachers, villagers and local people's representatives will take up the plantation drive in a big way.
"Balala Harithahaaram programme is aimed at mobilising the schoolchildren along with teachers, parents and villagers to take part in the plantation drive. The main objective is to motivate and pool in as many people as possible towards the plantation programme," said the Collector.
