Woman dies in private hospital in Hyderabad, family demands action
A woman died 24 hours after being admitted to a private hospital here at LB Nagar on Wednesday night.
A woman died 24 hours after being admitted to a private hospital here at LB Nagar on Wednesday night.
On learning the death of the woman, relatives of her demanded action against the hospital authorities who have collected Rs 1 lakh from them and then demanded some amount to take the body.
According to the family members of the woman, Krishnaveni, she was admitted to Kamineni hospital on Tuesday night due to high fever and collected Rs 30,000 for the initial treatment. On Wednesday night, the staff then asked to pay Rs 70,000 medical bills. A few hours after paying the bills, the staff declared Krishnaveni dead and asked to pay some more amount to take her body.
However, the hospital authorities said that the woman was put on a ventilator and was given injections which led to the whopping medical bills. Krishnaveni's body was handed over to her family at around 10.30 pm.
Her father was an Assistant Sub-Inspector with Uppal traffic police.
