Retired judge Justice Mandati Sitarama Murthy to head AP human rights commission

The high power committee suggested the name of retired judge Justice Mandati Sitarama Murthy to head the Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission.

Votes counting stated at AC College

The counting of votes for the Krishna-Guntur districts Teachers MLC elections started at AC College in Guntur city on Wednesday morning. About 12,568 votes were polled in Krishna-Guntur districts.

First, the priority votes will be counted. Vote counting is expected to be completed by 2 PM. Sitting MLC A S Ramakrishna, former MLC Boddu Nageswara Rao and 17 other candidates are in the race for the post. Guntur collector and returning officer for Krishna-Guntur Teachers MLC constituency, Vivek Yadav is supervising the vote counting.

Chandrababu Naidu may file the petition in AP High Court today

TDP National president N Chandrababu Naidu is likely to file a quash petition on Wednesday in Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking quashing of the FIR filed by AP CID in connection with the Amaravati land scam.

It may be mentioned that the CID officials on Tuesday served notices to Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Hyderabad requesting him to attend CID office in Vijayawada on March 23. After consulting his lawyers Chandrababu Naidu is likely to file a petition in AP High Court.
