Eluru: As many as 931 village secretariats will be set up in West Godavari district and arrangements are in full swing announced, Joint Collector M Venugopala Reddy. Addressing district officials, he said that one secretariat for every 4,000 population will be set up.
These secretariats will function from October 2. The JC asked the officials to prepare plan for starting the village secretariat system. For every secretariat, 11 employees would be appointed, he said.
Stating that about 1.5 lakh candidates are expected to apply for the posts which will be filled through written test, the JC said that general knowledge and technical tests would be conducted for them. He directed the officials to make necessary arrangements for the exam.
