Kakinada: Saisudha Hospitals proprietor Vadrevu Ravi donated Rs 25 lakh to Rotary Golden Jubilee Club for creating awareness on traffic rules and regulations. Addressing a meeting here on Tuesday, Dr Ravi said that the people were losing their lives with smaller mistakes on roads.

Lack of awareness on traffic rules is contributing for accidents. He suggested the club to prepare a special brochure regarding traffic rules and distribute to every individual. He said that the traffic has been increased largely in Kakinada city and the extension of road works fuelled the problem.

He said that more accidents were occurring as parents give vehicles to their children. He said that Rotaract Club used to hold a programme by painting `half-shade' of headlights which helped the vehicles avoid direct lighting glare problem.

The medical reports suggest that small mistakes of the injured persons in road accidents claimed their lives. The club president Dr Sathish said that the club would distribute special brochures and special hoardings would be set up in main junctions like SP Office, Nookalamma temple at two town, Petrol Bunk areas and others. The club members requested the officials to reinstate traffic advisory board.
