Vijayawada: Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Venkateswara Rao (Nani) said on Friday the state government is ready to construct 5300 houses to the beneficiaries in 181 acres land in Mallaipalem village under Gudivada mandal of Krishna district. Kodali Nani performed ground breaking ceremony for construction of houses along with the party leaders and the officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Kodali Nani said the government is ready to construct the houses or it will give nod if the beneficiary constructs the house at a cost of Rs 1.80 lakh. He said the state government had purchased 181 acres land with Rs 92 crore after the YSRCP came to power. He informed the government had allocated Rs 100 crore for infrastructure development in the layout. The cost of TIDCO project in Gudivada is Rs 630 crore and Rs 70 crore will be spent for development of infrastructure facilities.

Of the total expenditure, the government will bear Rs 500 crore, he said and added that Rs 250 crore will be collected from the beneficiaries.

YSRCP leaders Dukkipati Sasibhushan, former municipal vice-chairman Adapa Babji, party town president G Srinu and other leaders participated in the event.
