Srikakulam: The State government released 5,510 crore funds under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, said Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Krishna Das. In a press conference at YSRCP office here on Monday along with party MLAs and assembly segment coordinators, the minister said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy committed to fulfill all poll promises in a phased manner and as part of it, Rythu Bharosa scheme would be implemented from Tuesday.

"We have assured to implement the Rythu Bharosa after two years of assuming power but planned to implement it in first year itself. No state government introduced such a scheme like Rythu Bharosa to provide financial assistance to farmers to meet expenditure for cultivation practices," the minister pointed out. Previous TDP government and its chief N Chandrababu Naidu cheated the farmers after came to power in 2014 in the name of loan waiver, he said but the YSRCP government is committed to welfare of farmers.

Minister also alleged that Chandrababu Naidu diverted Central government funds, which were meant for farmers' welfare.

He also assured that farmers' enrollment process and corrections in the lists will be continued till November 15 under the scheme. YSRCP district president K Kruparani, MLAs of various assembly segments and coordinators S Appala Raju, R Shanthi and A Suribabu participated.
