Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has unveiled a calendar of developmental works to boost the economy with a targeted approach to raise the job opportunities of migrant workers to double of the existing ones.

Accordingly, the authorities are working to double the employment in various sectors, including agriculture, a system of job-cards would be introduced to identify the migrant workers and local labour for not only keeping track of the labour movement but also to ensure that welfare measures reach them. This could lead to creation of a database on migrant labour to effectively handle any emergency situations in future, it is learnt.

At a review meeting here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister urged people to overcome corona fears and get plunged into normal life. "Don't fear it but handle it. Corona has to be handled not dreaded. The government has put medicare in place to take care of it. All that one needs to do is to come forward and get tested... treated, in case affected by it," he said.

Assuring village level Covid-19 tests in future, the Chief Minister said seed distribution at the village level would drastically alter the face of rural economy itself.

The Rythu Bharosa Kendras put in place, would change the face of the villages, he said assuring all migrant labour "full hands" and livelihoods.

Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered the officials to curb corruption and malpractices in sand and liquor dealings. Noting that liquor consumption had drastically come down, he directed the Education officials to reopen schools on August 3. "Naadu Nedu" programme works must be completed by July 31, he instructed. He said the appointment of three Joint Collectors each to the districts had given a greater clarity to governance.
