Amaravati: Efforts should be made to establish skill development colleges in all the 25 parliamentary constituencies in the state to prepare the youth to get jobs in the industry, said industries, IT, commerce, textile, skill development and training, investment and infrastructure minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy.

Addressing a review meeting with the officials of the industry, skill development and other departments and the collectors of seven districts through video conference from the Secretariat here on Thursday, the minister instructed the collectors to acquire land for establishing the skill development colleges in all the districts.

He instructed the officials of various departments to get prepared to participate in the review meeting on industry with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on May 28. He suggested to the officials to prepare action plan to give boost to the MSMEs in the state as desired by the chief minister.

The minister told the officials to prepare the details of the migrant workers who left for their native places, the industries that were closed in their absence and the details of the youth without employment in the state. "The youth should be identified to give them training in various skills to provide them jobs in the industry."

Stating that all the industries that were closed due to the outbreak of Covid-19 were opened, the minister instructed the district collectors to prepare the feasibility report to establish more industries in the 13 districts.

G Anantaramu, special secretary, skill development and training department, principal secretary of IT Kona Sasidhar, special chief secretary Karikala Valavan, director of employment Lavanya Veni, Skill Development Corporation chairman Challa Madhusudan Reddy, Higher Education Council chairman Hemachandra Reddy, CEO Arja Srikanth, and the officials of various departments were present.
