Amaravati: The proposal for massive transfer of IAS and IPS officials is under consideration with the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

As more than thirty IAS and IPS officials have got promotions recently in the AP Cadre, the transfers and rearranging the positions became an inevitable task.

Meanwhile, theIAS and IPS officials have started a great lobbying with the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police for the key positions and interested postings.

While the IPS officials, who are already in the Superintendent of Police cadre and did not get the chance to serve in the Law and Order, have hopes on the Chief Minister that he will give the opportunity now. Apart from them, the officials who got eligibility for that position are also aspiring, according to the official sources at the CM Office. The key positions being expected in the police department by the majority of officials are including District SP and IGs in Law and Order.

On the other hand, the situation with respect to the IAS officials is also more or less the same. The officials are expecting the District Collector and District Magistrate position in the districts. Some of them expecting Commissioner positions in the key departments and Corporations. At the same time, the officials at the secretariat are also expecting that the CM may give responsibility of the key departments.

A senior officer, while speaking with The Hans India said that, "It is true that we are expecting key position. I asked the CM to give the posting at my interested place to serve more effectively."

On the other hand, some of the officials are saying that since the caste has been playing a dominant role in Andhra Pradesh, unlike any other State, the negative impact of that bad precedence also has been visible in the selection of officials even at the top level. This observation was not made by just one or two serving senior IAS and IPS officials, but majority of them expressed during the informal interactions.
