Amaravati: YSRCP MP Kanumuri Raghu Rama Krishnama Raju will be hosting a gettogether to MPs at the end of winter session of Parliament in New Delhi on December 11. On the other hand, his political rivals Gokaraju Gangaraju family members joined YSRCP on Monday.

Speaking to this correspondent over phone, Raghu Rama Krishnama Raju said that he was expecting that more than 300 lawmakers would partake the dinner, which is a friendly gathering cutting across partylines.

He also said that various Union ministers, including home minister Amit Shah and other stalwarts were likely to attend for the dinner. To a question, he said YSRCP MPs were also invited and hoped that they would take part in it. On the other hand, the YSRCP leaders in the state have been observing that it was surely a major development at national level. Though the YSRCP president and Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy did not get even appointment from Amit Shah for two times, the party MP has been actively maintaining good relations with the BJP senior leaders and Union ministers.

Sources said to balance the political power in the Narsapuram Lok Sabha constituency, from where Raghu Rama Krishnama Raju is representing in Parliament, the party chief Jagan had invited family members of former MP Gokaraju Rangaraju. Both Gangaraju and Raghu Rama Krishnama Raju have political rivalry till 2019 general elections. Gokaraju family was in BJP up to now.

Now, except Gangaraju, all of them joined YSRCP in the presence of Jagan at Tadepalli. The leaders, including Gokaraju Rangaraju, elder son of Gangaraju, Gokaraju Narasimharaju and Ramaraju, brothers of Gangaraju, joined the ruling party.

While welcoming their joining YSRCP, Raghu Rama Krishnama Raju said that it was a good development and the party would have another three votes.

When asked about suggestions that it was the strategy of Jagan to check mate him by inviting his opponents, Raghu Rama Krishnama Raju said that he would not see it in such a way. "The elections will be conducted after four-and-a-half years . It is hypothetical that I would leave YSRCP," he said.
