The government has approved for the recruitment of 3,795 Village Revenue Officers (VRVO) grade-2 posts in the Revenue Department. It is learned that the state government has already set up village and ward ministries and replaced them with VRV (Grade-2) posts. At the same time, various associations have been appealing for the eligibility to serve as Village Revenue Officers for a number of years on a one-time basis. Considering these, the government made a positive decision within five months. The district collectors were directed to recruit 3,795 VRO posts with VRAs with intermediate as qualifications.

Even though the revenue department has issued orders to this extent, due to technical reasons, the file was deferred by the District Collectors. The Revenue Department recently issued internal orders to collectors of all districts, removing the ambiguity over the eligibility requirements for these posts on the appeal of village revenue assistants' association. Accordingly, the Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department, V. Usha Rani, has instructed the Chief Commissioner of State Land Administration to declare the district wise vacancies and select eligible VRAs on the basis of seniority.

Here are the guidelines

Must have passed the Intermediate or Contemporary Course.

Should possess five years of service as VRAs should be completed by January 1 of this year.

Degree and PG holders without intermediate are also eligible.

The government said in a memo issued to collectors to make sure the certificates are correct.

Allows eligible VRAs to be selected as VROs on a one-time basis. To this extent the Terms of Service are exempted from the conditions of a single term.
