Class VIII and IX girls from Aluru in Kurnool district showcase their skills like drawing maps of 205 countries in 1.15 minutes and narrating the names of all the countries in 1.20 minutes before the representatives of Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records
Amaravati: Students of Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Girls School, Aluru, in Kurnool district bagged nine India Book of Records and two Asia Book of Records honours on Wednesday.
The Class VIII and IX girls exhibited their abilities in the presence of Asia Book of Records representative Dr Vasudha and India Book of Records representative Jayasimha at the AP Tribal Residential Institution Society office here. APTWREIS secretary Srikanth supervised the programme.
At first, the students Gayatribai, Manju and Anvaishnavi drew the map of 205 countries in 1.15 minutes and set an Asia record. T Anuvaishnavi bagged India Book of Records by narrating the names of all countries in 1.20 minutes. B Vijayalakshmi won a place in India Book of Records by narrating the names of Indian states and Union Territories in 14.22 seconds. Other students, including M Yuvarani, Y K Sridevi and G Sujata excelled in mathematical calculations and entered the India Book of Records.
Asia book of Records representative Dr Vasudha and India Book of Records representative Jayasimha presented medals and certificates to the girls and praised the efforts of residential school principal Kishore for training the students. AP Tribal Residential Institution Society secretary Srikant said that they were providing such training to students of 190 residential schools in the state.
