The members of the ruling YSRCP have strongly objected to TDP member Nimmala Ramanaidu mentioning lies over pensions in the state during the debate on welfare bills on the fourth day of the Assembly winter sessions on Thursday. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who intervened in the discussion on the occasion, denied the lies made by TDP members on the distribution of pensions. He said he was prepared to discuss the allegations made by the opposition. "Until two months before the elections, when Chandrababu was the CM, anyone in the state would be told how much the pension was paid," he said.

He made it clear in the house that they are providing a pension of Rs. 2250 after the formation of their government. Chandrababu Naidu was criticized for giving a pension of only Rs 1,000 for four years and 10 months during his tenure and for raising his pension to Rs 2,000 just two months before the elections.

Until six months before the elections (October 2018), the pensions in the state were distributed to only Rs 44 lakh and their government was paying Rs 61.94 lakh. He said that during Chandrababu's tenure, the pension bill was not even Rs 500 crore and now their government is giving Rs 1500 crore per month in the form of pensions. The CM was outraged that the TDP leaders were lying and cheating. He asserted that what they had said before the election was written in the manifesto and that the manifesto would be considered as the Bible, the Qur'an and the Bhagavad Gita.

During the debate in the gouse, CM Jagan expressed anguish angry with TDP member Ramanaidu for spreading lies. He termed him as a dramatist for lying and deliberately misleading the house and sought a resolution violating the rights of assembly. After that, the Speaker said that action would be taken against TDP member Ramanaidu for violating the rights of the house as per the instructions of the Leader of the house.
