Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh JAC Amaravati, which is one of the biggest association of employees, teachers, workers and retired employees in the State, has released a charter of 37 demands. They include scrapping of contributory pension scheme and restoration of old pension scheme for the Sate government employees.

Thousands of employees and officials from all 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh attended the third State council meeting organised b AP JAC Amaravati at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram on Saturday.

The council re-elected Bopparaju Venkateswarlu as the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh JAC. The interesting development in the third council meeting is the Employees Union, the recognised union in the APSRTC, announced its merger with the Andhra Pradesh JAC, Amaravati. Consequently, the strength of AP JAC increased in the State.

Y V Rao (APSRTC) was elected as secretary-general and T V Phani Veerraju as associate chairman of the JAC. The council elected a 40-member new panel.

Later, addressing the third council meeting, Bopparaju Venkateswarulu said the JAC Amaravati would support the three-capital decision taken by the YSRCP government. He demanded that the State government provide amenities to the employees in the new executive capital. He also demanded that the senior officers should not exert pressure on the mandal level staff and officers in execution of government programmes like Navaratnalu. He said employees were playing a key role in execution of welfare schemes and it is not correct to put more pressure on the employees to please the senior officers. Employees, teachers, pensioners and other took out a rally from Lenin Centre to Tummalapalli Kalakshetram. JAC co-chairman T V Phani said the decision on implementation of PRC has been postponed twice and a decision should be taken on it without further delay. He demanded that the government release the pending DA arrears. Treasurer Murali Krishna appealed to the government to issue employee health cards.
