Large number of people are suffering from end organ failure in our country and they require organ transplantation to lead a normal life.
Visakhapatnam: Large number of people are suffering from end organ failure in our country and they require organ transplantation to lead a normal life. There are not enough organs available for transplantations.
Till 1995 there were no laws regulating organ donation or transplantation in our state/country. Government has enacted THOA(transplantation of human organs act). By this, one can donate organs altruistically to near relatives only and this has streamlined the transplantation procedure in our state to some extent.
Apollo, by endeavouring and accomplishing this kind of activities will be intensifying its activities to bring awareness among people about organ transplantation and to save thousands of lives in near future. Activities organised include registration of voluntary organ donors, walkathon and donor family felicitation.
