Rajamahendravaram: Bhogi -the first day of three day mega festival of Sankranthi was celebrated with gaiety and pomp here on Tuesday. Bhogi mantalu were seen everywhere in the city from the wee hours and many people dumped dung cakes in the holy fire.

All the temples in the city were crowded with devotees and special poojas were performed. Central bus station and railway station witnessed huge rush of passengers who are going to their native places for the fest.
