Bus overturns at Kavali, one woman dies, 7 hurt

A person died and seven others received severe injuries when a private bus turned turtle at Gowravaram in the district in the wee hours on Thursday.

A woman, Islam, 30, from Murshidabadi. West Bengal died on the spot. Kavali rural police said that the bus was moving from Chennai to Kolkata with around 50 daily labourers who were on the way to their native state.
They planned a visit to various destinations in West Bengal in connection with the new year and Sankranthi. The bus driver was unaware of a curve close to the toll way at Gowravaram and it overturned due to over speed on the early hours.
Kavali rural police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Kavali and Nellore hospitals for treatment. They booked a case and were investigating.
