Chirala: The Chirala rural police arrested a woman for storing and selling liquor illegally to cash on the demand from drunkards during the Janata Curfew on Sunday.

The Chirala rural CI, Venkateswarlu announced that they received information about a woman selling liquor at a tiffin center near Vetapalem. Based on the information, he said that the Vetapalem SI, I Ajay Babu raided the tiffin center and vegetable shop near the Vetapalem railway station and found 19 quarters and one 90ML bottle of liquor from the woman by name Shaik Nazma.

He said that the woman owns the tiffin center and vegetable shop and wanted to make cash on the demand for liquor from the drunkards during the Janata Curfew. He said that the government ordered the complete shutdown of the liquor shops and bars and warned that the police department will take stringent action on those people who sell liquor illegally in the area.
