Chittoor: In view of alarming rise in corona positive cases in the district, effective measures and constructive strategy to contain the pandemic COVID 19 should be mooted with the active participation of the frontline departments like revenue, medical and police, stressed District Collector Dr N B Gupta.

He added instructions were given to conduct thermal screening tests at the interstate border check posts in Gandrajupalli, Chikatibilu and Naraharipet.

In a video-conference held at Collectorate on Tuesday with the Tahsildars, MPDOs, and Municipal Commissioners, he said the details of migrant workers should be uploaded in Spandana website for obtaining e-passes for sending to their native places in special trains. He stressed the primary and secondary contacts should be placed in home quarantine with the permission of the respective medical officers alone. All required facilities should be provided in all the quarantine centres. "Community Quarantine Centre is to be set up at each mandal. All the primary contacts and secondary contacts of corona positive cases should be kept in the quarantines invariably. With regarding to Koyambadu Market contacts, identification of the suspects should be competed very soon," he added.

The district collector further said that district COVID 19 Nodal Officer would play a key role in handling the quarantine centres. Joint Collector2 V R Chandra Mouli, DMHO Dr Penchalaiah, CPO Ananda Naik and others were present.
