Nellore, April 11: There was clashes between TDP and YSR Congress leaders and activists in Pulaneellapalli in Chejarla mandal which is part of Atmakur assembly segment. It may be re-called that this is native place of former MLA Kommi Lakshmaiah Naidu who is in ruling party now.

Local YSR Congress leaders raised objection on rigging and irregularities in the local polling stations and there were exchange of heated arguments between the two sections.

Finally, followers of local YSR Congress candidate M Goutham Reddy and close aids of Lakshmaiah Naidu in which people from both parties received injuries.

Candidate Goutham Reddy lodged with election officials on poll related irregularities of ruling party leaders. The same situation arose in Brahmanapalli in Podalakur mandal too.

Further, the district witnessed 7.83 pc of polling at 9 am and the district administration ban-ished entry of media persons at the Collectorate where web casting equipment is available.

They arranged a media centre with a television and no other information is being provided by the authorities.

Major problem in the district is Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) that found to be erratic with no response till 8 am. Many polling stations were skipped mock poll due to technical prob-lems.

In Kovur polling booths 130, 94, 72-74 and many others witnessed the situation. Final-ly, polling started after 1 to 1.30 hours late.
