New Delhi: AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Parliament Central Hall on Tuesday. In the 40 minutes meeting, CM has requested for the implementation of special status and bifurcation promises.

In addition, he urged PM for the financial support for the Water grid, which is established to provide safe drinking water to the people of the state. Along with CM YS Jagan, YSRCP MPs, Principal Secretary Rawat, and IAS officer Srilakshmi were present.

However, this is the second time that YS Jagan is meeting with PM Modi after becoming as Chief Minister.

Highlights of CM YS Jagan's request letter:

Declaring special category status to the state, as it is divided against the will of the people. Special status is essential to the economic and industrial development of the state.

Due to the bifurcation, the state has lost revenue. The debt of Rs 97,000 crore in 2014-15 increased to Rs 2.8 lakh crore by 2018-19. For the seven backward districts Rs 2,100 crore has to be provided in six years term, but only Rs 1,050 crore has been released.

For the development of backward districts, provide the remaining Rs 23,300 crore in KBK format.

Financial support for the integration of lakes in Uttarandhra region through the Polavaram left canal. With the interlinking of river Godavari and Krishna which provides the water to the drought-prone Rayalaseema region and prevents the shortage of drinking water and irrigation.

The availability of water levels reduced in river Krishan, by which Rayalaseema, Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna districts are facing severe difficulties.

We are bringing the water grid to provide safe drinking water for every house. This grid is designed to meet water needs until 2050. It's estimated around Rs 60,000 crore for the establishment of these water grids. CM YS Jagan urged to Provide adequate assistance for this scheme.

Requested to provide subsidies for industries and GST exemption for ten years in the state. Income tax exemptions for ten years. 100% insurance premium reimbursement for ten years. The revenue deficit of Rs 22,948 crore has to be filled.

Reimburse Rs 5,103 crore which was spent on the Polavaram project. Grant Rs 16,000 crore for land acquisition and resettlement in this financial year.

It has been announced that Rs.2500 crore will be given for the construction of the capital city. So far Rs 15,00 crore has given. We are investigating on the irregularities that happened in the name of capital city construction, and after the completion of the inquiry, we'll request the needs from a scientific perspective to the development of the capital city.
