CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy: Jaggiahpet to house trauma centre, ESI hospital

Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday said Jaggaiahpet has all qualifications to be declared as industrial hub. He made this announcement after a request was made by Jaggaiahpet MLA and government whip Samineni Udaya Bhanu in a public meeting conducted in Jaggaiahpet on Monday to mark the launching of flagship programme YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhoo Hakku - Bhoo Raksha Pathakam'.
MLA Samineni Udaya Bhanu presided over the public meeting organised in a degree college in Jaggaiahpet.
Speaking on the occasion, Samineni requested the CM to declare Jaggaiahpet as a industrial hub stating that the cement factories and other industries are located in Jaggaiahpet Assembly constituency limits and government is also getting revenue in the form of taxes. The MLA also requested the CM to allocate funds for setting up of a trauma centre for accident victims, for development of tourism and for construction of ESI hospital.
Responding to the requests, CM Jagan announced Rs 3 crore for setting up trauma care centre, Rs 15 crore for promotion of tourism and Rs 5 crore for construction of ESI hospital building.
The MLA said there is a need to operate passenger trains from Jaggaiahpet. Reacting to it, CM said the State government would write a letter to Railways. Referring to the development works in Jaggaiahpet, CM reminded foundation stone was laid for construction of the Vedadri YSR Lift Irrigation scheme.
The CM handed over the land ownership titles to the villagers of Takkellpadu, which is near Jaggaiahpet. Takkellapadu was chosen for conducting land survey as a pilot project and the work has been completed in nearly seven months. The revenue officials explained how the land survey has been conducted with the state-of-the-art technology in Takkellapadu village.
Ministers Velampalli Srinivas, Kodali Nani, Perni Venkata Ramaiah, district Collector Md Imtiaz, joint Collector K Madhavi Latha and officials of other departments attended the event.
