Covid recovery rate 98.78 % in Srikakulam district

Srikakulam: Covid patients' recovery rate is 98.78 per cent in Srikakulam district. Total positive cases reported are 45,966 till December 11.

The death toll recorded is 351. These deaths also occurred due to other ailments like lung infections, cancer and heart diseases etc along with Covid.

So far, 7,14,623 samples were collected in the district. Of them, 45,966 samples were declared as positive.

District officials have taken tough measures from the beginning of the pandemic to prevent loss of lives. To prevent spread of Covid positive cases, officials started 31 quarantine centres and designated 15 hospitals as Covid hospitals.

Total 403 containment zones have been declared across the district as part of prevention of Covid. In all, 16 Covid care centres were established and samples collected through medical and health teams across the district. The tests were conducted at six labs.

"We are taking all measures to prevent the spread of Covid pandemic

and people need to cooperate further to prevent the spread of the virus," says District Collector J Nivas.
