In spite of heavy rain lashing Guntur city, the TDP leaders led by its national general secretary Nara Lokesh started one-day Deeksha at the collectorate here on Wednesday to mount pressure on the government to solve the sand problem in the state.
Guntur: In spite of heavy rain lashing Guntur city, the TDP leaders led by its national general secretary Nara Lokesh started one-day Deeksha at the collectorate here on Wednesday to mount pressure on the government to solve the sand problem in the state.
Addressing the gathering, MLC Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad criticised that due to failure of the government, over 30-lakh construction workers lost their livelihood and they are unable to feed their families. He demanded the government to solve the sand problem immediately.
MLA Maddali Giri criticising that the YSRCP government has no commitment to solving the sand problem, said that due to sand scarcity, the construction activity in the state has come to a grinding halt. He recalled that the construction workers were committing the suicides. He held the YSRCP government responsible for construction workers suicides.
Guntur M.P. Galla Jayadev, former minister Nakka Anand Babu, former MLA Makineni Peda Rathaiah, were among those participated.
