Ongole: The Prakasam district SVEEP nodal officer and STEP CEO Dr B Ravi organised an electronic voting machine awareness programme for the visually and hearing impaired people in Ongole on Sunday.

In the programme, the visually impaired people had hands-on experience on the EVM and checked the Braille font embossed on the EVM and dummy ballot paper while the hearing impaired people learned about the machine in sign language.

The differently-abled people are explained on the usage of the EVMs and their functionality.

The social welfare assistant director B Singaiah also participated in the programme and asked the differently-abled to utilise their right to vote by having awareness of the process.
