Kakinada: East Godavari district civil supplies officer B Prasada Rao along with his staff inspected PDS shop No 44 in Digumartivari street in Kakinada on Friday.
The DSO noticed that instead of the dealer who was allotted to the shop someone else was acting as the dealer.
The DSO found 600 kilo of excess rice in the premises when checked the stock register. The inspecting team suspected that the original dealer Kuncham Sananyai purchased the stocks from PDS card holder for resale.
A case under Civil Supplies Act was booked on the dealer and the shop was seized. Civil Supplies ASO P Suresh, MSO Suribabu and others participated in the raid.
