Guntur: Markfed to purchase turmeric from today

Guntur: Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd (Markfed) will purchase turmeric at 6,850 per quintal at Duggirala,Vemuru and Sattenapalli yards from June 22.
The Markfed is making necessary arrangements to purchase turmeric from the farmers to ensure MSP to them. Each yard will purchase 100 quintals per day from the farmers.
The farmers who booked on e-karshak and got token may bring their stock to the yard. The Markfed officials urged the turmeric farmers to avail the facility provided by government.
The Markfed swung into action in the backdrop of falling of turmeric price in the open market.
