Guntur: Police seized 57 liquor bottles relating to Karnataka State from the possession of Banavat Nageswara Rao in Perikapadu village under Krosuru mandal of Guntur district on Friday.
Based on the information, the police seized liquor bottles from his possession and took him into custody.
To make a fast buck, some persons are illegally smuggling the liquor from Karnataka state and selling in the local market.
The police booked a case against Nageswara Rao. Another two persons who have connection with the liquor bottles Mutyam Srinivasa Reddy and Jayarami Reddy absconded.
The excise officials on Thursday seized 60 cases of Karnataka liquor near Narasaraopet.
