Idols of Goddess Durga desecrated in Kakinada
Some unidentified miscreants desecrated about 30 idols of goddesses at Sarpavaram in Kakinada rural mandal.
Kakinada: Some unidentified miscreants desecrated about 30 idols of goddesses at Sarpavaram in Kakinada rural mandal. According to Kakinada Rural Circle Inspector R Govinda Rajulu, a resident of Sarpavaram village Narasimha Murthy was making idols on the occasion of Dasara festival.
Some unknown persons desecrated the idols on Thursday night. Leaders of YSRCP, TDP and BJP visited the site and demanded that the government arrest the accused and punish stringently.
Former MLA of Kakinada Rural Pilli Anantha Lakshmi, the party district general secretary Pilli Satyanarayana Murthy, BJP leaders Mamidala Srinivasa Rao, YSRC leader Pulla Koteswara Rao and others condemned the act. The police said that a case was booked under Section 427, damaging property. The case is under investigation.
