Implement code of conduct strictly, officials told in Guntur

Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar directed the officials to strictly implement the model code of conduct in the elections to Assembly and Lok Sabha scheduled on April 11.
He instructed the expenditure teams, video clipping teams, flying squads and model code of conduct teams to strictly implement the EC guidelines. Negligence of duties will be dealt sternly, he warned.
He addressed a meeting with election officials here on Monday. He said election observers will come soon and instructed the officials to take steps to conduct election peacefully.
The Election Commission prepared C Vigil App this time and the voters may use the app to check irregularities in the elections.
If anybody is violating the model code of conduct, the voters may complain through the app. He asked the officials to create awareness on the app among masses.
Guntur rural SP SV Rajasekhabara Babu said that they have taken steps to conduct elections peacefully and stepped up vigilance on the movements of criminals in the problematic villages.
Guntur urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao was also present.
