In the service of mother

Vijayawada: With a strong emotional bond with his mother, a person, B Krishna Kumar from Mysore started 'Matru Sevasankalpa Yatra' in January 2018 along with his 70-year-old mother on his dad's old scooter. He covered about 35,375 kilometres in last 16 months along with his mother. He travelled eight states covering temples and tourist spots and important places. He arrived in Vijayawada on Tuesday.

Speaking to The Hans India, Krishna Kumar explained how he started 'Matru Sevasankalpa Yatra'. He said, "Ours is a joint family in Mysore and my mother is restricted to the house doing household works like cooking, washing, cleaning etc.

After my father passed away four years ago, one day I asked my mother if she has seen Belur Halibeedu, a famous tourist place near Mysore. When I heard that she did not see, then I felt very bad and took a decision to show her all the famous temples and tourist spots across the country and resigned my job."

He said he worked for a corporate organisation as a team leader for 13 years and left the job to show his mother she missed in her 70 years. He said that he feels great showing all the places to his mother travelling on the old scooter. They travelled Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Goa, Andra Pradesh and Kerala, he added.
