Chittoor: Deputy Chief Minister K Narayanaswamy said that Jagananna Chedodu Scheme will benefit 2.47 lakh beneficiaries belonging to Rajaka, Nayi Brahmin and Tailoring communities in the state. Under the programme, he said financial assistance of Rs 10,000 would be given to raise the living standards of these communities. Participating in Chief Minister's video-conference held at the Collectorate, Narayanaswamy briefed the media over the achievements of the YSRCP government during the last one year.

He said Jagan Mohan Reddy has allocated Rs 247 crore under the scheme and 15,320 beneficiaries under the scheme would be assisted in Chittoor district with an outlay of Rs 15.32 crore.

He complimented the District Collector N B Gupta for the development of the district on all fronts. Responding to harassment of Dr Anita Rani, a Medical Officer in PHC, Penumur, he asserted that he has great respect towards doctors and her case has been entrusted to CID for investigation.

MP N Reddappa, YSRCP MLAs A Srinivasulu, Adimulam, V Veera Brahmam, JC (Development) Dr Renuka and others were present. On the occasion, Kasthuri, Sateesh, Srinivasa Murthy and Kasthuri, the beneficiaries of Jagananna Chedodu scheme have taken part in the CMs video-conference and expressed their happiness for getting the assistance.
