Amalapuram: The Join for Development Foundation (JD Foundation), as part of protection of environment, has taken up different way of campaign. They took up seed ball campaign in Amalapuram, Tatipaka, Razole in Konaseema areas of East Godavari on Thursday.

According to organisers, they have taken up this programme with inspiration from former police officer JD Lakshminarayana. With school children as chief campaigners, the foundation organisers handed over balls with soil filled with seeds of various plants to travellers asking them to drop these balls in vicinity of their households in the present rainy season. The seeds in the balls are expected to go into the ground and develop as plants.

The foundation representatives have taken up this programme on large scale with 2 lakh seed balls in all the 13 districts in the state. "We strongly believe that this programme by JD foundation will be a success for protecting the environment as we have chosen school children as ambassadors of the organisation," said organisers.
