Kurnool: Minor girl flees with SC youth, kin attack his house

Adoni deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Vinod Kumar told The Hans India that one Narasimhulu, 21, of SC community and a 14-year-old girl of Boya community, residents of Binigeri village, were in love with each other for some time. Two days ago, the pair left the village. The parents of the girl instead lodging a case with police, searched for her along with their relatives, but could not trace her.
Later, they came to know that she had eloped with Narasimhulu. In a fit of rage, the girl's relatives attacked Narasimhulu's house and damaged a portion it. They also injured the boy's family members.
On being alerted of the attack, Aspari police rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation and posted a picket in the village in view of simmering situation DSP Vinod Kumar said that the girl's parents had fixed her marriage and it was to be performed on January 8.
Vinod Kumar further said that the Adoni revenue division officer and other officials on learning about the fixing of minor girl's marriage by her parents, rushed to the village and counselled them.
However, the police filed two cases, one under SC/ST atrocities Act against the girl's relatives for allegedly attacking and damaging the property and the other a case of kidnap on Narasimhulu. A search is on find the absconding couple, the DSP said.
