Kurnool: TDP MLC K E Prabhakar bid goodbye to the party on Friday. He tendered his resignation as the party member and forwarded the letter to TDP district president Somishetty Venkateswarlu.

Prabhakar is the brother of former Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy. Addressing the media after submitting his resignation, Prabhakar came down heavily on party leader and former Union Minister Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy for taking unilateral decisions.

He said that despite serving the party for several years, the seniors were not being given preference by the leadership and newcomers were being asked to take decisions. The attitude of TDP national president and district president has upset me, he said.

Prabhakar pointed out that Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy and his wife Sujathamma joined the TDP just a year ago. Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy without consulting the senior leaders in the TDP has unilaterally decided the chairperson candidate for Nandyal Municipality, he pointed out.

"I have sacrificed Dhone, Pathikonda MLA seats and Kurnool MP seat. Instead of recognising my services, the party has not taken my requests into account," lamented KE Prabhakar.

He also regretted that tickets were not being allocated to candidates referred by him for corporator posts in Kurnool Municipal Corporation. He said the TDP was not recognising the services of activists who were working at the ground level. Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy responding to the allegations made by Prabhakar said that he had never taken unilateral decisions. He said he had only acted as per the directions of party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu. He also pointed out that he was maintaining cordial relations with former Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy.

Responding to a query by the media persons, Krishna Murthy said he was not aware of the decision taken by his brother to quit the TDP.
