Tirupati: In view of forthcoming Karthika Brahmotsavams of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple at Tiruchanur, Laksha Kumkumarchana was performed to the deity on Friday morning.

Kumkuma (vermilion) has great significance in Hindu Sanatana Dharma as married women place Sindhoor on their foreheads for the wellbeing of their husbands. The event is conducted ahead of Brahmotsavams to ensure a hassle-free conduct of the 9-day mega event.

The Archana was performed at the Sri Krishna mandapam in the temple at Tiruchanur between 8 am and12 noon on Friday reciting the 1,000 divine names of Goddess Lakshmi. Several hundreds of f women devotees took part in this ritual. DyEO Jhansi Rani, AEO Subramanyam, Archakas and other officials and devotees participated.
