MLC Ramu Surya Rao has said Mahatma Gandhi’s life was ideal for every individual and his teachings were still relevant today and they should be followed by the present and future generations.
Eluru: MLC Ramu Surya Rao has said Mahatma Gandhi's life was ideal for every individual and his teachings were still relevant today and they should be followed by the present and future generations.
Accompanied by Joint Collector K Venkata Ramana Reddy, Joint Collector -2 N Tej Bharat, DRO Srinivasa Murthy and others, the MLC paid tributes to Mahatma on his 73rd death anniversary here on Thursday. They observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the Father of Nation.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLC said that Mahatma was known for great qualities of patience and non-violence. He achieved freedom without bloodshed with two weapons of non-violence and Satyagraha. Even in South Africa he fought against apartheid and won worldwide appreciation, the MLC said.
