Mentally retarded girl raped by a man in Prakasam
The Prakasam district police arrested a man for allegedly raping a psychologically unsound girl in Tripurantakam on Friday night.
Markapuram: The Prakasam district police arrested a man for allegedly raping a psychologically unsound girl in Tripurantakam on Friday night. The victim is shifted to Markapuram government general hospital for tests and treatment on Saturday morning.
According to the investigation officer and Yerragondapalem CI Maruti Krishna, the Tripurantakam police received a complaint at Friday late night that Karunakar Reddy of age 25 years and native of Rajupalem village in Tripurantakam mandal raped a teenager who is mentally retarded. He said that the parents of the girl are workers in a brick kiln and they are away from home on Friday evening. The cousins of the girl witnessed the accused raping the girl and alerted the neighbors.
The parents of the girl and the locals complained to Tripurantakam police, who arrested the accused immediately.
