Naipunya Ratham to equip youth with skills: APSSDC

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) chairman Challa Madhusudan Reddy along with managing director (MD) and CEO Dr Arja Srikanth and head of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) South Region, Dr. Raman Gujral, flagged off the Naipuna Ratham, an innovative initiative by APSSDC in the name of 'Skills on Wheels' with the aim of creating awareness in digital literacy among youth and women, especially in rural Andhra Pradesh.
The chairman and others had a video conference from Naipunya Ratham with the students of SRR and CVR Government Degree College, Vijayawada. Speaking on the occasion, Madhusudan Reddy said that the main objective of this Naipunya Ratham was to provide digital literacy for students, unemployed youth and women in rural areas.
He said that the target groups will be trained in general computer usage, awareness on operating system, career guidance and resume preparations, including emailing skills. Apart from digital literacy, the women members of Self-Help Groups will also be taught banking and other financial operations over the computer. Digital AP and Digital India concepts are being implemented simultaneously in this programme.
MD Dr Arja Srikanth explained that the main aim of the Naipunya Ratham was to take the skills to the village level in the name of 'Skills on Wheels'. He said that the Naipunya Ratham was sponsored by the HP Global Organisation and the APSSDC and training implementation partner EDII would conduct all training programmes. He also said that Naipunya Ratham will also be used for conducting online interviews for the unemployed.
APSSDC proposed the training through this Naipunya Ratham in six districts of AP, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Anantapur and Kurnool, this year. The Naipunya Ratham will also be used for community programmes such as educating rural population on the prestigious Navaratnalu, other developmental and welfare schemes of the state government, as well as awareness on APSSDC training programmes
