Amaravati: The Government took a step back in removing the contract and outsourced employees in APSRTC. Minister for Transport Perni Nani stated that the government will not remove outsourced employees and contract employees in the APSRTC, on Saturday.

On his official twitter handle, he maintained that, "The contract and outsourced employees in the APSRTC were not removed from the services. It was wrong. Since they did not have insurance, we gave a circular instructing to first deploy permanent employees only. In the regime of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, there will not be any removals of employees. There will be only new recruitments".

In fact, he did not mention about the Memo No. Dir (V&S)/Task(1)/2020, dated May 13, 2020 issued by the office of the VC and MD, APSRTC. In which, they did not mention about the insurance issue, as claimed by the Minister, observed the APSRTC employees union leaders.

On the other hand, the Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan demanded government not to remove the outsourced employees and contract employees in the organization.

Pawan Kalyan about 7,600 outsourcing employees are eking out living with trust on the RTC. Stoppage of one month salary and a directive released from the RTC MD's office on May 13 has caused a commotion among the outsourcing employees.

Majority of the employees who come under this category are drawing a salary between Rs 6,000 and Rs 15,000. How will they continue their life if their salaries are not paid during the period of lockdown induced by Coronavirus? Even after the announcement of the Minister for Transport that they are not removing the outsourcing employees, the fears among the employees are still intact, Pawan Kalyan maintained.

It is not fair for the Minister to say that these employees were not allowed for duties since they did not have insurance cover under the pretext of Corona. It is unknown when the Corona is contained. Will, you do not allow these outsourcing employees for duties till then?, the Jana Sena questioned.

He demanded the State government that the outsourcing employees must be paid salary arrears immediately and given job security assurance to them in writing.
