Kadapa: Deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha has said that nation irrespective of caste and religion should remain grateful to Potti Sriramulu as he was responsible for formation linguistic states in the country.

On the occasion of 67th death anniversary of Potti Sriramulu, the Deputy Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Potti Sriramulu at Gokul Lodge Circle on Sunday and addressed the gathering. He said that Telugu people should feel proud to have a great leader like Potti Sriramulu.

He called upon people to follow the ideologies of the veteran leader who sacrificed his life for formation of separate state for Telugus. District Collector Ch Harikiran said that following directions of the state government, for the first time district administration is organising Potti Sriramulu death anniversary as an official function.

Meanwhile leaders of various political parties officials social activists, Arya Vaisya association have paid rich tributes to Potti Sri Ramulu by garlanding his statue and portraits at their offices.

Government whip K Srinivasulu, PCC vice-president N Tulasi Reddy, Joint Collector-2, Siva Reddy, SP KVVN Anburajan , Additional SP A Srinivasulu Reddy and others paid tributes to the great leader. Special Collector Satish Chandra, RDO Malala, Kadapa municipal Commissioner Lavanna and others were present.
