Visakhapatnam:B Krishna Rao, a 2014 batch IPS officer, took charge as the Superintendent Police of Visakhapatnam district on Monday. Earlier, he served in various capacities, including Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Visakhapatnam.
Attada Babujee, who was Krishna Rao's predecessor, has been transferred to the post of SP of Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB). Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Rao said equal priority will be accorded to addressing Maoist problems and preventing the spread of Covid-19.
He said technology would be utilised to provide better policing to the public and severe action will be taken against anti- social activities in the rural areas. After taking charge as SP, he met Commissioner of Police R K Meena, Visakha Range DIG L K V Ranga Rao, District Collector V Vinay Chand and District Judge B S Bhanumati.
