Newborn dumped in drain in West Godavari district
In a horrific incident, a newborn baby was found dead in the sewage drain at Katakoteswaram village in Nidadavole mandal of West Godavari district on Friday.
Nidadavole: In a horrific incident, a newborn baby was found dead in the sewage drain at Katakoteswaram village in Nidadavole mandal of West Godavari district on Friday.
According to the police and locals, an 18-year-old unmarried woman, who belongs to Katakoteswaram has thrown her baby in the drain. she has given birth to a baby girl on Thursday night.
It's reported that the infant died during the delivery. The locals who noticed the dead infant in the drain on Friday morning informed the police and Panchayati officials. This incident came into light when the Anganwadi health workers surveyed every house and identified the woman, where she has admitted the incident.
As the woman was sick, she was shifted to Nidadavole government hospital for medical tests. On receiving the complaint, the police have registered a case and investigating further.
